Spring Break 2014 – Mobile Health (mHealth) Bootcamp for Biomedical Researchers

Join the UA Mobile Health Special Interest Group and colleagues from across campus on Thursday, March 20th, from 8:30-12:30pm for a Mobile Health (mHealth) Bootcamp for Biomedical Researchers.

This half-day workshop is designed for researchers who are actively using aspects of mobile and wireless health methods in their research, or, who would like to integrate mHealth into their research projects. The goal is to provide a framework and best practices for producing competitive grant proposal with colleagues at the University of Arizona.

Workshop objectives include:

  • Provide a lifecycle view for mobile health-aligned projects from planning, budget development and regulatory components to recruitment, deployment and data management & analysis
  • Review key technology components of mHealth projects, from sensors to mobile devices
  • Learn how to incorporate and integrate mHealth tools, techniques, measurement into existing projects
  • Develop trans-disciplinary collaborations
  • Learning from case study of active mHealth project
  • Working in focused teams to generate ideas and the beginning of a grant proposal for submission with UA colleagues

Applications are due Friday, January 31st, 2014 to (mhealth@cs.arizona.edu) with notification of acceptance by Friday, February 14th, 2014. Space is limited for this workshop. Applications will be evaluated based on order received.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants must hold a faculty or appointed professional position at the University of Arizona, and be committed to working on a multidisciplinary team to prepare a mobile health-themed grant proposal for submission.
